Belle of The Ball

Valentine’s day is the holiday of love and soon approaching on the 8th will be the Royal Indulgence Valentine's Ball that I am excited about and will be attending. This year’s Royal Indulgence Ball promises to be bigger and better which can only mean that we as ladies have a great opportunity to don our fabulous gowns and reflect true elegance and sophistication. ^.^ What comes next is the mayhem of what to wear and be the belle of the ball…But be alarmed not, I have compiled a list of seven different looks complete with hair and makeup tips for your ease and inspiration, ensuring that each one of you ladies will surely be the belle of the ball for Valentine's!

Colour...

First off, If you want to stick with valentine’s theme, find an outfit in red, pink or white. But if you would like more versatility do not be afraid to mix colours, like selecting one main colour for your outfit and combining it with accessories in a separate colour.

Dresses..Hair..Makeup...

Dress option 1:  Black pleated/skater dress
The dress is the statement piece, all you need to add is a pair of diamante drop earrings or rhinestone earrings, a small square clutch and black heels. Hair can be slicked to the side, pin your hair from the back to one side, then curl the loose hair with a straightener or curling wand. Finger comb through the curls to make them loose and use a good hold spray. Finally for makeup, a winged eye liner and a bright lipstick would be perfect for this look!

Dress option 2: One shoulder dress with oversize bow detail
Wear this with a pair of black or nude heels with a matching clutch, this would look great with a snakeskin or two tone clutch. For jewelry again a dress like such is a statement dress, so if you were to wear too much jewelry, you would draw attention away from the beauty of the dress. So minimal jewelry please ladies, you can add a bracelet and or an oversize coloured ring. For hair and makeup, this outfit suits either hair swept to one side (which will most definitely the side that’s bare) or pinned up as an up-do. You can opt to have a side part with a fringe and curl the ends and pin them loosely at the back or allow the curls to rest on your shoulder. For makeup try a dark, shimmer eye shadow either in silver, gold or bronze, with a darker eye shadow in the corner of your eyes for a smokey eye effect  and wear a nude lipstick with a light pink gloss!

 Dress option 3: Maxi Dress
This is a simple yet chic look. You can glam it up a little by adding a sequin gold belt and a gold collar necklace, or a gold belt with gold drop earrings, a few gold bangles and carry your purse bag with gold chain link. For hair, this outfit is great for a half up, half down hairstyle. Part your hair at the center or side, divide your hair in two halves then with the top half pin your hair back as tight as possible using bobby pins. Once you have tightly secured the top, curl the bottom half of your hair into loose wavy curls and use a hold spray. For makeup you wear gold eye shadow and long lasting eye mascara for your lashes with a bright red or burgundy lippy!

 Dress option 4: Fringe Dress
A fringe dress, or better yet a dip dye fringe dress oozes 20’s vintage chic! Wear with opaque tights and black strappy sandals, you can opt for a contrasting colour for the clutch. Complete this look with long loose curls or tight wavy curls worn down, winged eye liner of course and a bright red lip stick!

 Dress option 5: Peplum Dress
You can never go wrong with a peplum dress,  wear with nude peep toe heels and an oversize clutch. This look is great with hair tied up in a high bun, statement earrings and possibly a necklace. Wear a rich tone lipstick, whether it’s plum, burgundy, maroon or red you go for!

Dress option 6: Loose Maxi/Evening Gown
A sleeveless airy maxi dress displays effortless chic for those of you who want to exude elegance but be comfortable. This look works beautifully with equally effortless makeup and hair, so the trick is to wear minimal makeup that gives the appearance of a compete natural look. Therefore wear nude tones for your eyes and lipstick and your hair down in loose romantic curls. For accessories, small rose petal earrings and matching bracelet and a clutch of the same colour as your dress will complete this ethereal look!

Dress Option 7: Chiffon Asymmetric Dress
A chiffon asymmetric one shoulder dress with embellishment, wear with this  nude heeled detail sandals and matching colour for the clutch. Wear your hair in a high ponytail or a high bun, why not try adding colour to your eyes, say a navy blue shimmer eye shadow and nude gloss!

So there you are ladies, 7 complete look suggestions for you to look exceptional for Valentine's .. I look forward to see what you all choose to wear and I will post an update of the best frocks of the evening..So stay tuned

Love,
Laviniah
